As the Product Manager for Marketplace, your mission will firstly be to understand how Elefant Marketplace vendors operate, what are their processes to manage products/categories, offers, orders, promotions, fulfilment, finances. Based on your understanding, research of global best practices and collaborative work with business units, your goal will be to define and deliver improvements the current toolset within the Marketplace Ecosystem that keeps up with rising industry standards and consumer expectations.
Collaborative work will be key to your role as a Product Manager. Our team works closely with creative and great engineers, designers, marketers, etc. both in house as well as external partners. Furthermore, you will be in close communication with other Marketplace business teams such as account management, business development, fulfilment, marketing and communication.
Elefant’s mission is to create a marketplace destination with seamless selling and buying that will empower both our vendors to grow their businesses and create radically enjoyable experiences for our end customers.
Responsibilities
The Product Owner/Manager for Marketplace Ecosystem responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Become familiar with the global & regional Marketplace & Ecommerce best practices and trends. Understand Elefant’s business goals and Sellers’ needs in order to create a coherent product strategy and development roadmap. The final goal is to provide tools that will empower our Sellers to grow their businesses and operate seamlessly, ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Act as a mediator between business and tech: condense complex technical concepts into non-technical language for stakeholders and communicate direction and product priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams and third-party partners.
- Collaborate with the Product Team to draw specifications and document projects that will be part of the product road map. Become the owner of said projects.
- Work with multiple internal business and engineering teams and 3rd party contractors to coordinate and monitor implementation according to specifications. Following an iterative design and development process, drive the execution, delivery, and outcome of the product throughout the entire product lifecycle. Participate in standups, iteration planning sessions, product demo, and retrospectives. Foster collaboration with team members to drive value and resolve impediments.
- Manage and groom the product backlog: create, accept and prioritize user stories; incorporate them into release planning. Identify and consider pros, cons, issues, obstacles, dependencies and value associated with features and enhancements. Track progress against approved milestones and project goals. Anticipate bottlenecks, risks and clarify project priorities with escalation if needed.
- Identify goals, metrics and analytics to determine product value; continually make recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings. Monitor research as well as the competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become best in class.
