We are now looking for a Product Manager passionate about processes and innovation. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and navigating in a complex start-up environment, with a strong attention to detail. He/She needs to be comfortable assessing multiple sources of information and working cross-organizationally to build scale, efficiency and simplification through tools and processes, exercise business judgement to evaluate trade-offs, and influence business strategy and prioritization. The candidate should have strong communication skills and be able to think strategically and analytically.
In this role, you will be involved with the team that manages one of the core systems at Elefant, the Product Information Management / Catalog. With millions of SKUs and new complexity added by the Marketplace, coordinating vast amount of data flows is one of the key challenges we face as a company. You will create and clarify Catalog product infrastructure, conceptualize data flows between our core systems (marketplace & ecommerce), guide product / architecture improvements from conception to launch.
As the Product Manager for Catalog, your mission will firstly be to understand how Elefant Marketplace Catalog operates, what are the data flows, how products and offers are structured. Based on your understanding, research of global best practices and collaborative work with business units, your goal will be to define and deliver improvements to the current architecture within the Marketplace Ecosystem that keeps up with rising industry standards and consumer expectations.
Responsibilities
The Product Owner/Manager for Catalog responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Work backwards from our customer & marketplace vendor needs to create and drive a roadmap of opportunities that will enhance and automatize Catalog processes, improve data flows, create a robust data structure architecture and finally create a seamless purchasing experience for our end customers.
- Understand data flows, data logic & data structure, to define and oversee implementation of the best catalog and PIM (product information management) architecture.
- Use analysis & statistics to proactively identify, fix, and prevent quality issues within the Elefant product catalog flow.
- Work with multi-functional teams (including tech teams) to implement these projects. Communicate direction and product priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams and third-party partners.
- Manage and groom the product backlog: create, accept and prioritize user stories; incorporate them into release planning. Identify and consider pros, cons, issues, obstacles, dependencies and value associated with features and enhancements. Track progress against approved milestones and project goals. Anticipate bottlenecks, risks and clarify project priorities with escalation if needed.
- Identify goals, metrics and analytics to determine product value; continually make recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings. Monitor research as well as the competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become best in class.
