Job Description:

• We are looking for a highly versatile, motivated, and collaborative Senior Business Analyst to join the ESG Data Governance team, contributing to the team’s mandate of facilitating consumption of data. The team is focused on creating dataset expertise, increasing Sustainalytics Products data quality, and supporting product releases through the Data Lake pipeline.
• You will be implementing data governance principles, acting as an expert on the dataset and support consumers of the data. This position plays a significant role in Sustainalytics’ data pipeline chain, working with product managers, producers, consumers and with a technology team to implement data governance practices. 

Role & Responsibility:

• - Build expertise on ESG product datasets, become an SME on the data models to guide data Consumers
• - Partner with Data Owners, Producers, Consumers and Database Engineers to define data flows and transformations across data chains
• - Review business requirements generated by ESG Products Team and partner with Data Architect to translate to technical specific requirements
• - Ensure analysis is completed and documented; create and maintain data governance artifacts (e.g., flows, lineages, dictionaries, data contracts)
• - Comply to data governance process and practices (e.g., definitions, business naming standards)
• - Evaluate change impact, detect gaps, and provide resolutions for the data flow operation process to ensure that internal processes are effective and efficient

Requirements:

• - +3 years' experience in data management and data governance
• - +3 years' work experience with SQL
• - Strong understanding of databases and data structures
• - Relevant work experience supporting data services, data integration and governance
• - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, combined with meticulous attention to details
• - Understanding of corporate data, market data, fundamental data, and reference data is considered an asset
• - Good knowledge of software development methodologies.
• - Understanding of project and product management tools and concepts

Nice to have:

• Experience in designing logical and physical data models
• Experience with data governance tooling
