About the Role
The Junior Project Manager ESG Research will be part of Sustainalytics’ Research Transformation Team, which operates within Sustainalytics’ ESG research division. The Research Transformation team is responsible for translating new ESG product requirements into research requirements and ensuring that the research produced by various operations teams is combined into high-quality ESG products. The candidate will support the Change and Release Manager, who acts as connectors between individual ESG research operations teams on the one hand and Sustainalytics’ Product Development Strategy Team, ICT, and Sustainalytics Methodology Team on the other. The Junior Project Manager ESG Research’s focus will be on Sustainalytics’ Risk Products. The candidate will support the release of solutions for new Risk research requirements to the research teams in order to accelerate growth, stimulate product innovation and improve the efficiency and quality of the research process. In addition, the candidate will work to adjust research processes to achieve organizational effectiveness in support of our product strategy and communicate the business vision to various internal stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
• Support the Research Release Manager in coordinating with the Risk Product Managers the roadmap planning implementation of new research releases, through scope management and research release planning.
• Update the project portfolio of all change projects for the Risk suite of products and communicate progress to the stakeholders.
• Analyze research requirements and change proposals (as-is vs to-be) and create recommendations. Assist the Research Release Manager in preparing decision processes where there are several possible courses of action.
• Provide input for the workload analysis and cost basis of any changes, in close collaboration with the Research Managers.
• Support the Research Release Manager to plan implementation projects and partner with Research Managers to ensure that research processes, guidance and platforms are adjusted/developed to support new research requirements and ensure that operational gates are passed in a timely manner.
• Support the research teams in the preparation of deliverables for the stage-gate process.
• Under the overview of the Research Release Manager, lead the implementation of initiatives on quality and efficiency and build mechanisms to measure and deliver benefits.
• Provide support, as needed, to the Risk Research Quality Controller to ensure the timely publication of high-quality research. Support Research Quality Controllers in resolving quality issues across the value chain and implementing corrective measures (issue management).
• Act as research change ambassador and coordinate/support change management initiatives.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in economics, finance, business management, environmental or social sciences.
• 3+ years of work experience in the ESG/financial industry
• Affinity with ESG product development
• Strong process management capabilities (green/yellow Six Sigma certificate)
• Proven experience with change management and operating in an international environment.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills in a data-driven or research operations environment
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities, individually as well as part of a team
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage/connect and build effective relationships at different levels, while managing competing interests.
