About the Role
Sustainalytics is strengthening its stewardship team with a corporate governance analyst. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for responsible investment and sustainability. The ideal candidate will be a good communicator with experience in proxy voting and ESG research.
Job Responsibilities
• Analyzing investee companies’ ESG policies and approaches
• Keeping up to date on policy developments on specific ESG topics
• Develop and take ownership of reporting of corporate engagement and voting activities; partner with client relations team and with clients directly to ensure client reporting meet expectations
• Voting at companies’ general meetings
• Ensuring all accounts are voted as intended and are in accordance with the appropriate guideline
• Contributing to the ongoing maintenance and development of clients’ stewardship policies
• Contributing to reports and engaging with relevant parties on Sustainalytics’ activities
• Working both with Sustainalytics’ client-facing team and with clients directly to ensure client reporting meets expectations
• Internal record keeping and analysis of proxy data.
Qualifications
• Minimum undergraduate with a degree in finance, economics, law, accounting, sustainability or public policy
• The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant track record of successfully working across teams to generate ESG research and/or proxy voting outcomes. Good business awareness and experience of corporate environmental issues are also important, as are an understanding of a range of environmental, social and governance topics, with an emphasis on governance topics.
• Ability to work and in a high volume, rapid pace, deadline-oriented environment.
• Other qualifications for the role include excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills. The main company language is English, hence fluency in English and one or more other languages is essential.
