The Psychologist will be responsible for providing mental health and Psychosocial support to children, young people and caregivers identified through project activities and cross-sectorial referrals as potentially requiring this level of care.
The psychologist will contribute to building MHPSS capacity within the project team as appropriate, and will participate in community-based mental health promotion and prevention activities.
Responsabilities:
· Conduct non-clinical psychosocial assessments of children upon referral and as indicated, and develop appropriate intervention plans in counselling hubs
· Provide individual and group supports as indicated, and in coordination with case management/ education and other psychosocial supports services
· Identify, assess, refer children in need of a further level of psychological/psychiatric care
· Contribute to identifying MHPSS needs in the community, and participate in designing and conducting relevant mental health promotion, psychoeducation and prevention activities and campaigns,
· Contribute to identify MHPSS capacity needs and gaps in the implementing team, and support the design and delivery of relevant capacity building activities including training and coaching of project staff
· Ensure that the activities are implemented in a full respect to the child safeguarding polices of SC.
· Attend individual and group supervision sessions.
· Contribute to the design of intake forms, session plans, and follow-up forms for children and their families in adversity.
· Adhere to the highest standards of practice, in line with national guidelines and global best practice
· Work with translation if necessary
Qualifications:
· University degree in psychology, clinical psychology, counselling, or related field.
· Training in evidence-based, low intensity psychological interventions highly desirable
· Licensed to practice according to Romanian national legislation
· A minimum of 2 years of experience in family and/or child counselling or psychotherapy
· Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including team-leading and influencing.¡’’
· Excellent written and oral communication skills in Ukraine and Romanian or English
