As our Senior C++ Engineer on our Desktop team, you play a critical role and are responsible for building, maintaining, and testing our C++ modules that will be used for thousands of users in our Kape Desktop VPN application. Each member of our group takes ownership of our products and truly guide the outcomes for our end-users. As we are a highly remote company, the Senior C++ Engineer should be comfortable working asynchronously and must have good communication skills to communicate with engineers and stakeholders across multiple timezones.

Main responsibilities:

• Develop new application features and improve the current application;
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C++ code targeting different platforms (Linux, macOS & Windows);
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems;
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization;
• Able to identify and communicate problems with technology, investigate potential causes, propose solutions/next steps, and proactively inform the team of changes;

Ideal candidate:

• Proven experience using C++ targeting different platforms
• Experience in Qt and QML;
• Expertise in quality software development;
• Rigorosity with code quality practices and architectural design principles; passion in creating a testable architecture and product;
• Great communication with other technical engineers, understanding of their problems and needs;
• Knowledge mentoring junior engineers to grow their technical talent;
• Comfortable working in Agile teams and its ceremonies;

Nice to have:

• Experience working with privacy/security oriented companies;
• Knowledge of VPN technological intricacies;
