Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Psychologist to join our team in Bucharest. The candidate must hold a diploma equivalent to a Romanian qualification or one that has been recognized/revalidated in Romania. This position is a part-time, 12-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension. The role will primarily involve providing psychological support and interventions to Ukrainian refugees, assisting them in their integration into Romanian society.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and develop intervention plans for Ukrainian refugees.
- Provide individual counseling and run group therapy sessions to address psychological and emotional well-being.
- Implement specialized interventions to mitigate factors leading to behavioral disorders, risky behaviors, or psychological distress.
- Collaborate with public institutions, non-governmental organizations, and authorized private bodies to identify resources for the integration process of beneficiaries.
- Organize and lead personal development sessions to enhance beneficiaries’ integration experience.
- Maintain confidentiality in all communications and ensure the highest ethical standards in psychological support.
- Record and track beneficiary participation in project activities and maintain accurate documentation as required by the project’s database.
- Offer counseling services to adult refugees under Temporary Protection.
- Provide recommendations for additional institutional referrals as necessary (e.g., speech therapy centers, medical offices, etc.).
- Communicate findings and suggest integrated intervention strategies to the project team to address the psychological needs of beneficiaries.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with project staff to ensure seamless delivery of psychological support services.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and project quality standards in all activities.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the project manager.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in Psychology, recognized in Romania, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in psychological counseling.
- Proven experience in providing psychological services to individuals or groups.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with diverse communities.
- Excellent command of Ukrainian and working proficiency in Romanian or English.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to beneficiaries and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other productivity tools.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in delivering high-quality services.
- Strong commitment to ethical practices and zero tolerance for sexual exploitation, abuse, harassment, and discrimination.
