Responsibilities

Axway is looking for an innovative and enthusiastic Principal Cloud Architect for our B2B Integration Platform of the future. The B2B Integration Platform is a natural evolution of our strong on-prem offering for B2B/EDI gateways and our existing managed cloud portfolio. Our market leading EDI gateways are multi-platform integration middlewares that enable customers to exchange and transform business documents using a large variety of communication protocols and message formats.

This role is instrumental in our transformation and journey from a traditional product architecture towards a modern, cloud-native and hyper-scalable solution with a delightful user experience. The role is based in our Bucharest offices and requires strong communication and collaboration skills as well as hands-on coding.

What will I be doing?



• You will be part of an Agile team with strong customer focus
• You will work with the management team to define technical strategy, design the cloud platform solution and drive the cloud optimization topics focusing on TCO, High Availability and Resilience
• You will be responsible for driving the transformation of the current solution and ensuring the design will meet our strategic long-term goals
• You will evaluate new technologies and implement proof-of-concept for proposed solutions, such as to demonstrate the fulfillment of key requirements around integration, availability, and performance
• You will be involved in all aspects of engineering including design, estimation, coding, testing, documentation, and delivery
• You will collaborate with Product Security on platform security reviews and actions.
• You will partner with the CloudOps teams on building adequate physical environment and infrastructure
• You will act as a technical guardian of our solutions to ensure product performance, scalability, and supportability (maintainability, reusability, scalability, availability…) are covered in the functional and technical design
• You will mentor others and lead by example, ensuring that engineers are following best practices for robust cloud solution design and development.

Qualifications

What skills and experience do I need?



• 3+ years of experience as an Architect with a proven track record of designing large scale, distributed, highly available, fault tolerant systems in the multi cloud environments across geographically distributed data centers
• Broad technology expertise including Docker, Kubernetes, Public Cloud (AWS, Azure)
• Hands-on development experience in managed or unmanaged programming languages (preferably Java or C)
• Experience of developing Services Orientated Architectures (SOA), WebServices (REST, SOAP, XML-RPC) , microservices and API design patterns
• Good understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPs, FTP/FTPs, etc.)
• Strong presence and excellent communication skills with technical focus

What skills and experience are a plus?

·    Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies such as TOGAF or equivalent.

·    Knowledge of NoSQL databases (Redis) and in-memory data grids (Apache Ignite).

·    Full stack experience with Web Applications including Frontend Frameworks (ReactJS) and Backend Services (Jersey).

·    Familiarity with EAI patterns and queuing systems (JMS, IBM WebSphere MQ).

·    Experience in developing and driving SOA strategies within large enterprises.

·    Experience with cloud and hybrid deployments.

·    Experience implementing Continuous Delivery in a multi-platform environment from the ground up

·    Exposure to EDI standards (EDIFACT, X12, AS2, AS4)

·    Practical expertise in performance tuning and optimization, profiling, and bottleneck analysis
